In October 2025, my beautiful niece Alice was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at just 4 years old. It came as a heartbreaking shock to our entire family, especially her parents and her two siblings. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia is the most common type of childhood cancer. It affects the blood and bone marrow, causing the body to produce abnormal white blood cells that prevent healthy blood cells from doing their job.Watching such a happy, joyful little girl face something so incredibly tough has taken a huge emotional toll on all of us. As her aunty, I’ve wanted to do everything I can to support her and our family throughout this journey. Seeing the strength she shows every day has also made me think about the many other families who are facing the same battle.That’s why this September, I’ll be taking part in a fundraising walk to help support children with cancer and their families. While nothing can take away the pain these families experience, I hope that by raising funds and awareness, I can make even the smallest difference. It’s the very least I can do to honour my niece’s courage and help other children receive the support they deserve. Unfortunately every month, 64 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer. Every dollar I raise will fund Camp Quality's services and programs to help little kids who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.Thank you so much!
