Support my Big Walk for Little Kids

Every day, 2 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer.

I've joined the Big Walk for Little Kids to support kids facing cancer.

I'm walking to raise funds for Camp Quality to support their services and programs to help children aged 0-15 years old who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.

By creating positive memories, Camp Quality helps change the cancer story for kids and their families. Please support my walk to give kids and families the break from cancer they urgently need. As they say at Camp Quality “laughter is the best medicine”, so please give generously so we can spread those smiles far and wide.

Thank you so much.

Embracing Life's Challenges with Sci-Fi, Dad Jokes, and a Heart Full of Hope

Hello, dear readers! Today, allow me to introduce myself - a 52-year-old working professional in the disability sector, proudly holding the role of a Community Service Coordinator. But there's so much more to me than just my job title.

Passion for Sci-Fi: One of my greatest loves is the world of science fiction. The boundless possibilities, futuristic landscapes, and mind-bending concepts have always captivated my imagination. Whether it's exploring distant galaxies in novels or binge-watching classic Sci-Fi series, I find solace in these alternate realities that often hold a mirror to our own world.

Family and Friends: The cornerstone of my life is my deep love for family and friends. They are the constellations that guide me through life's twists and turns. Whether it's a hearty dinner with loved ones or a simple evening spent reminiscing, these moments are the essence of my happiness.

Dad Jokes and Optimism: Life can throw us curveballs, but I firmly believe that there's a silver lining in almost every situation, except, of course, in the face of death and illness. This belief fuels my penchant for dad jokes – those punny, often groan-inducing quips that never fail to bring a smile, even on the stormiest of days. After all, laughter truly is the best medicine.

Turning Tragedy into Hope: The journey of my life was deeply shaped by a profound loss when I was 24. I lost my father to cancer. His passing left an indelible mark, reminding me of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. Since then, I've been passionate about helping raise funds for cancer research and support. It's a way for me to turn personal tragedy into hope for others.

In essence, my life is a blend of embracing the wonders of the imagination through Sci-Fi, cherishing the warmth of family and friends, sprinkling optimism and laughter with dad jokes, and dedicating myself to making a difference in the fight against cancer.

So, as we journey together through the cosmos of life, I invite you to share in the laughter, the hope, and the unyielding belief that even in the darkest of times, a silver lining can be found – if only we look hard enough.

Day 1!

Today marks the beginning of my journey towards covering 50 Kilometers this month, all in support of The Big Walk for Little Kids by Camp Quality. Not only am I raising funds for a great cause, but I'm also kickstarting healthy habits. Day 1 is complete, and I'm feeling confident and motivated!
