Inaugural Boxing Day Classic

By Mitch Loughnan

I’m fundraising to help Camp Quality

Since starting to work on The Diggers Xmas Eve events a few years back, it’s been a goal of mine to try and start a local tradition that for whatever reason, just happens. Something that people talk about, grows yearly, and most importantly does good for others.

So here goes:

Welcome to the Inaugural Boxing Day Classic ?

A collection of champions (you lot), burning off the Chrissy Calories via a 5 or 10KM run/walk in at least one piece of Christmas attire (santa hat/xmas shirt/red nose etc.) for a good cause (Camp Quality). Sound good? More details below.

WHERE

Barwon River - Fyansford Pub Start/Finish

• 5KM loop from Fyansford Pub, over Queens Park Bridge and back to Fyansy Pub.

• 10KM loop = two laps of the above.

WHEN

9AM kick off, Boxing Day.

• Take your time, not a race at all :)

WHY

Starting a local tradition that does good for your body (post-Xmas lunch & pre-Boxing Day beers) and does good for others.

• Donating to ‘Camp Quality’.  An amazing Australian  charity that provides support to children (and their families) diagnosed with Cancer. Camp Quality provides kids facing cancer the chance to be kids again through programs and activities all over Australia.

Donate ?
