What happened to winter?

My journey to walk 500km and raise $5,000 for Camp Quality has been one of those ideas that sounded wonderfully straightforward at the beginning, just keep putting one foot in front of the other, right? So far, it’s been a journey measured in kilometres, early starts, tired legs, questionable decisions about what constitutes a “short walk”, and the growing realisation that 500km is, in fact, quite a long way. But every kilometre has a purpose: raising money to help Camp Quality support kids and families facing cancer and, hopefully, encouraging a few people to get behind the cause along the way. There’s still plenty of road ahead and dollars to raise before I hit 500km and $5,000, but that’s the point of the challenge. Keep walking, keep talking about the cause, keep fundraising and, when the legs start complaining, remind them that they weren’t consulted when I signed up. Onwards to 500km!

Already 54kms down

While I was in Adelaide last week, I managed to walk roughly 45kms!! It’s such a lovely city, very walkable (obviously) and some very interesting places and people watching.

Support our Big Walk for Little Kids

Every month, 64 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer.

This September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I'm taking part in Big Walk for Little Kids to bring fun, positivity and laughter back into the lives of little kids facing cancer.

Every dollar I raise will fund Camp Quality's services and programs to help little kids who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.

Please support my BIG walk to give little kids and families the break from cancer they urgently need. As they say at Camp Quality "laughter is the best medicine", so please give generously so we can spread those smiles far and wide.

Thank you so much!

So far, we have helped provide...

5 kids supported through a scary medical procedure by a Child Life Therapist.

4 kids filled with laughter from their hospital bed during a playdate with our puppets.

1 families to take a break from cancer and reconnect at a 5-day Family Retreat.
