Why I’m Fundraising for Camp Quality ❤️🎗️

It’s been just over a year since we heard the most devastating words any parent could ever hear: “Your child has cancer.”

Our beautiful boy Elijah was just 4 years old when our world changed forever. Suddenly, his childhood became filled with hospital stays, chemotherapy, blood tests and medications.

He has spent so much of his childhood fighting a battle no child should ever have to face. After months of intense treatment, he is now on the long road of maintenance. While the cancer may no longer be visible, the impact of everything he has been through is still very real.

When your child has cancer, you quickly realise you never take happiness for granted. A day filled with laughter, a special experience, seeing your child excited or simply making happy memories together — those moments mean everything.

Camp Quality has brought so much joy into Elijah’s cancer journey. He looks forward to seeing the Camp Quality puppets in hospital, because they bring laughter and a little normality to some very difficult days.

They even came to his daycare and put on a puppet show for Elijah and his friends, helping them understand and normalise cancer, while allowing Elijah to simply feel like one of the kids.

I know the fear, uncertainty and exhaustion that comes with childhood cancer, and I know how important it is to have organisations that bring a little light into the darkest days.

Camp Quality brings the laughter, fun and happy moments that every child deserves — and I’m fundraising so other children facing cancer can have more of those moments too.
