Why I’m Walking 64km This September for Camp Quality
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This year, I have committed to walking 64 kilometres as part of Camp Quality’s Big Walk for Little Kids to raise vital funds and awareness for children facing cancer.
Our world changed forever in May 2024. Less than two weeks before her third birthday, our daughter, Ella, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It’s been an incredibly tough road, and watching her go through this is something you can never prepare for.
During the hardest moments, Camp Quality has been there for us, providing support and giving Ella reasons to smile when she needed it most. A getaway down south, family days at AQWA and days filled with activities in safe environments for immunocompromised children.
I’m doing this walk for Ella, and to give back a little to the people who have stood by us. If you’re able to donate to my walk, or even just share this post, we would be so grateful.

47 kids supported through a scary medical procedure by a Child Life Therapist.

37 kids filled with laughter from their hospital bed during a playdate with our puppets.

11 families to take a break from cancer and reconnect at a 5-day Family Retreat.
