Big Walk for Little Kids 2026

A Pilgrimage Of Joy For Kids & Families In Need

I never stopped to realise that every month, 64 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer.

This September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I’m taking part in the Big Walk for Little Kids. For me, this walk is also a personal pilgrimage for Joy, for those children and families facing circumstances no family should have to endure.

As a teacher, seeing a student I see each day missing while they and their family face something like childhood cancer is unimaginable. School is such a big part of a young person’s world, but when illness interrupts that, it reminds us that some things are far more important than lessons, attendance and the everyday routines we can so easily take for granted.

It is the time spent together, the memories made, and those precious opportunities to laugh, play and experience joy as a family that matters most.

That is why I’m walking for Camp Quality.

Every dollar I raise will help fund Camp Quality’s services and programs for children facing their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad. These programs give families opportunities to step away from appointments, treatments and the realities of cancer and simply enjoy being a family.

With every kilometre I walk, I’ll be walking with hope: hope for more time together, more laughter, more memories and more moments where kids can simply be kids.

As Camp Quality says, “laughter is the best medicine.”

If you are able to support my BIG walk, every donation, big or small, will help bring some much-needed joy to little kids and their families.

Thank you so much for supporting my pilgrimage for Joy. 💛

So far, I have helped provide...

0 kids supported through a scary medical procedure by a Child Life Therapist.

0 kids filled with laughter from their hospital bed during a playdate with our puppets.

0 families to take a break from cancer and reconnect at a 5-day Family Retreat.
