My target 128 kms
128km for a cause that means a lot to me
Every month, 64 Australian families are told that their child has cancer.
For me, this one hits pretty close to home. I went through cancer myself when I was younger, so I know how much it can turn not only your own life upside down, but your family’s as well.
I’ve been lucky enough to come out the other side, and this September I’ve decided to take on 128km for Camp Quality’s Big Walk for Little Kids. That’s 2km for every Australian child diagnosed with cancer each month.
I’m aiming to raise $1,184, which can help give four families the chance to get away from the hospitals, treatments and everything that comes with cancer, and just enjoy some proper time together at a Camp Quality Family Retreat.
It’s been a long time since I went through my own battle, but it’s something you never really forget. If walking 128km and raising a bit of money can help make things even slightly easier for kids and families going through it now, then I’m more than happy to do my part.
