Big Walk for Little Kids 2025

Dday 27. hero and hills.

My son said an instant yes when I asked if he wanted to walk with me. Sore feet and sore legs but a huge heart. We did the hills around home and I loved every second.

Dday 24. driven.

One of the biggest walks I've targeted today. Lake path start to end and back. Started late though and ended up wandering around in the dark.

Day 22. gym run.

Treadmill - Pushed hard today. I was beetroot red after the run.

Dday 21. dad and son.

Joined by the hero for a neighbourhood tour. He is so strong. It's hard for him to push through the stiffness in his legs. I'm in awe.

Day 20. in the rhythm.

Wanted my morning coffee so I incorporated it into a morning walk. Home stretch now.

Day 19. incredible.

I sent a message to Kirbs at the end of a work day to see if there was any interest in a walk around the lake. I got an immediate Yes! 20 minutes later I had my beautiful family holding my hands and marching onward. One of my favourite walks of the month.

Day 17. night trek after work.

Quietly bordered the section of the lake between Speers Point and Eleebana. Went further and later than I intended.

Day 14. finally.

I've been thinking of wandering from Baths to baths. Merewether to Newcastle. A beautiful morning and the drive took over. Once I got to Newcastle baths I figured I'm close enough to the breakwall at Nobbys so why not include it in the journey. 14.23kms in the end. Enjoyed it all.

Day 10. race the storm.

Weather warnings from my car insurance provider weren't enough to scare me off an evening walk. Enjoy the sweaty mess photo at the apex of the hill climb.

Day 8. back it up.

Walked under the cheese moon tonight. Found the hooded statue at Warner's Bay that some consider creepy. My kids also joined me for a possum hunt!

Day 7. the wanderer

Fathers Day. Set out to do some big kms today. Once I'd hit my goal I just kept walking. A Forrest Gump moment if ever I've seen one. 15+km. Yikes

Day 6. wow. catho climb

Not a long trip today but it was very upwards. Scenic photo reward.

Day 5. still alive.

Start the day with H.I.I.T on the treadmill.

Day 4. mid day march

I had to sneak this one in at lunch time because my night time activity will be donating plasma!

Day 3. again.

I've got the bug. Let's see if I'm just a guy who goes off early and disappoints in the end or if I can maintain the rhythm and finish it.

Day 3 - treadmill counts surely.

Gym time with interval walk, jog and run program. Sweaty photo for proof!

Day 2 - joined by my hero.

Row put his hand up for some steps. Absolute champion.

Day 1 - in the beginning.

Discovering late in life that I'm a "numbers guy" might explain why I had to get the number to say EXACTLY 10kms. Sunset walk around the lake.

Support our Big Walk for Little Kids

Every day, 2 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer.

This September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we're taking part in the Big Walk for Little Kids to bring fun, positivity and laughter back into the lives of little kids facing cancer.

Every dollar we raise will fund Camp Quaity's services and programs to help little kids who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.

Please support our BIG walk to give little kids and families the break from cancer they urgently need. As they say at Camp Quality "laughter is the best medicine", so please give generously so we can spread those smiles far and wide.

Thank you so much!

So far, we have helped provide...

55 Digital Puppet Playdates to kids going through treatment.

35 kids a chance to have a break at Family Fun Days.

17 kids to have fun at Kids’ Camp.
