I’m fundraising to help Camp Quality

In 2004 the Fulmer family were faced with the diagnosis that one of their children, Thomas, had Leukaemia. Thomas was aged just 3 years and 10 months.

During Thomas’ 2 years of treatment, and many more years of follow up appointments, Camp Quality stood by the family’s side, every step of the way.

After attending their first “Camp Quality Family Camp”, the Fulmer’s found they were supported by other families going through similar experiences as well and the extraordinary volunteers, who offered hope, encouragement and laughter.

The Fulmer family wanted to give back. They knew first hand, the importance of the work carried out by Camp Quality.

Brian volunteered and supported Camp Quality in many ways. He spoke at charity and corporate functions, spruiking the importance of the work carried out by Camp Quality.

Brian also volunteered for many years, as a member of the support crew for the “1000 k’s 4 kids” bike ride. A ride that started in Queensland and ended, 10 days and 1000 kilometres later in Newcastle.

Brian volunteer on this ride up until he was diagnosed with a rare and terminal cancer in 2018.

Camp Quality was Brian’s passion. He knew first hand, what a big part Camp Quality played in holding our family together during one of the darkest times in our lives.

On Brian’s passing in October 2021, his family wanted to continue supporting Camp Quality in honour of their husband and father.

Brian’s love of camp quality, and Cricket, culminated in the Brian Fulmer Memorial Shield.
