Ordinary people doing the extraordinary!

1000ks 4 Kids is the culmination of year-round training and fundraising by dedicated and hardworking cyclists and support crew. In 2019, 58 riders and 24 support crew hit the road from Queensland back to Newcastle, raising over $430,000. This amazing team helped to spread laughter and raise awareness about our innovative programs and services to school children and local communities along the way. This ride is suited for cycling enthusiasts who want to challenge themselves and ride to support an amazing cause.

In 2021, the 1000ks 4 Kids challenge has moved online due to the current climate, and participants have an entire month to set a challenge for themselves.

Have you got what it takes?

“This event was created in 2011 with a plan for it to be a one-off. Here we are in preparation to run the 10th edition in September 2021. The 1000ks4kids is a challenge event with something for everyone. The event is about a group of people from all backgrounds and all ages coming together as a team to raise money for children and their families impacted by cancer.

"The 1000ks4kids is not an event for the elite. It is for the average person to do something extraordinary. The event is designed so that anyone can buy a bike and build their skills and fitness to complete the event. The only regret you have is not coming on board and joining a family you will cherish for the rest of your life.”
