Every 1000 K’s 4 Kids challenge is one to be remembered. One of the reasons it is such an amazing event is due to our cyclists and support crew. They are the remarkable people that take on the challenge. Their incredible sense of community, creates lifelong friendships. Every day sees the crew forge stronger bonds with their mates, as well as making new friends with other participants and the local communities we visit. The camaraderie grows with every kilometre as they ride long winding roads, together as a team, meeting local schoolkids and communities and above all helping kids who have been impacted by cancer.
WHAT KEEPS OUR ENTRANTS SPINNING
As well as having an absolute blast, all our riders are involved in some serious fundraising. Every donation will help bring Kid-ness back to an Aussie kid impacted by cancer.
Kristi Ayerst, first time rider 2018
“If you’re wondering if this ride is for the “everyday person”, then I am your proof. I was unfit, hadn’t ridden a bike since I was a kid and didn’t even own a bike.
You will be surrounded by positivity and make lifelong friends. You will meet children who have been impacted by cancer, be inspired and so thankful for everything good in your life. You will stop sweating the small stuff. You will laugh. You will cry. You will be challenged, but you will not be alone, and you will conquer your fears!
All whilst raising funds for Camp Quality, where laughter really is the best medicine!”
Jaydo Rowett, Team Captain 2018
“I have been part of the 1000ks 4 kids family for over 4 years now. To say it has been a life changing experience would be an understatement. I was lucky enough on my second year to be selected to captain the blue team. As one of the more experienced riders this enabled me to bring in new ideas into the preparation and the safety aspects of the ride.
I am so thankful I came across this charity and fantastic event. It has changed my perspective on life and makes you realise that everyone can make a difference. You will NOT regret it!”
Andy Olrich, first time rider 2018
"I am so proud and happy I signed up for the 2018 1000ks 4 Kids. I was nervous having never ridden a road pushy before, but I was able to do all the training and the unbelievable ride itself thanks to the incredible support from the Camp Quality Team, fellow riders & the support crew.
It is something you need to experience for yourself to fully understand how special it is to be a part of, and how much of a positive difference you are making to the kids whose lives have been impacted by cancer.”
