Support my Big Walk for Little Kids

This is my 2nd year participating in the walk. Last year I walked 572 kms for Alexander. This year I walk in memory of him and now my fellow little ginger ninja Owen who is bravely going through treatment in hospital.

Alexander would tell me to go bigger than last year so I’m aiming for 600kms.

Every day, 2 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer.

This September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I'm taking part in the Big Walk for Little Kids to bring fun, positivity and laughter back into the lives of little kids facing cancer.

Every dollar I raise will fund Camp Quaity's services and programs to help little kids who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.

Please support my BIG walk to give little kids and families the break from cancer they urgently need. As they say at Camp Quality "laughter is the best medicine", so please give generously so we can spread those smiles far and wide.

Thank you so much!

Happy father’s day!

Ended the first week with a walk in the beautiful sunshine with my family getting some kms in with me for Father’s Day, even Charlie came! More cycling than walking this week but next week will be a big walking week with some different walks coming up!

Walk a mile

I did an extra special walk today participating in Ashton & Lucas’ school Walk a mile. We did 2.2 kms together and after school took Charlie for a walk to the park. The kids (fur included) are loving getting out and walking for Owen & Alexander x

Team effort

Today was a big walking day thanks to the support of some fellow walkers! Thanks to my beautiful friend Jo who joined me for a fun lunch time walk. Rather than drive, I walked to Jo’s house to get in some extra kms and then we did 4.08 kms together in our local neighbourhood. After school my little walking companion Ash joined me. We walked from school to the shops and then home, getting in some extra kms for the day as well as getting some training in for Parkrun on Saturday! Trying to push that bit further knowing how much Owen is bravely fighting and Alexander would be saying more kms more kms!

Walk with some feathered friends

Chris joined me today for an 8km walk to our local park and back. On the way back home along the walking track we were joined by a duck and its ducklings who helped us get some kms in before waddling off to the water. So adorable, the highlight of the walk! Thank you to my wonderful supporters and donators, you inspire me to push that bit harder, especially up those hills. Time to sleep before Parkrun tomorrow!

Parkrun

A big day of walking with Ash joining me for my first Parkrun at Seacliff. We walked with Ash’s school friend Jack and Dad but made sure we ran every time we passed Mum Jo, who was time keeper (ha ha). A beautiful start to the day and weekend and perfect view to help get through 5 kms! So proud of Ashton for completing it and beating me! We’re doing another one in 2 weeks, walking with Jo.

Big walk big cycle day

After a couple of very slow km days due to a bit of a set back with an injury, today I bounced back with the highest km day so far: 30.7 kms. I did a 20.5 km cycle in the morning and then Mum and I went for a neighbourhood walk in the afternoon and Ash and I walked home from the shops after school. My tshirt arrived in the post this week. My cousin Belinda (Alexander’s Mum) is organising some special transfers to add to it for him and Owen. I can’t wait to wear it! Over half way and we’re at 50% of the km goal. Thank you for the continued support and donations! xx

Dogs day out

On Sunday we got some extra kms in parking away and walking to and from Dogs Day Out at Mawson Lakes. Charlie got a lot of kms in and met lots of furry friends. It was a lovely day with Belinda setting up a stand for Pawsome Prints by Alex with proceeds from sales going to Cancer charities. Mum has joined me again this week for a 4km walk around our neighbourhood and Ash has joined me for a walk home from the shops after school. With the school holidays here we’ll bring it home big in the next few days with some extra fun walks involving the kids. Unfortunately I won’t be doing the 2nd Parkrun as planned tomorrow due to injury but am still on target to get to the goal with 4 days to go - only 98 kms to go! Thank you once again for all your support and donations xx

1 day to go!

1 day left and only 17kms to go until I reach the goal tomorrow. I put on some clown hair for an extra special cycle for Owen today. Thank you to everyone for the ongoing support and generous donations xx

So far, I have helped provide...

32 Digital Puppet Playdates to kids going through treatment.

21 kids a chance to have a break at Family Fun Days.

10 kids to have fun at Kids' Camp.
