Hi my name is Mel and most people who know me know my story and how lucky i was and still am, but this isn't about me...
What many people don't know is that just months before my own diagnosis my Beautiful God Daughter Kiarnah was diagnosed with Brain Cancer at only 6yrs of age in March 2012...
This Beautiful little girl underwent multiple Surgeries and Chemotherapy sessions and did it all without a single complaint..
I selfishly used her strength to get me through my own battle and thank her everyday for being the Warrior that we all know her to be..
"Our Xena"
Just over 12months after her diagnosis we were blessed to find out that she had "Kicked Cancers Butt" and is now 8years Cancer Free and has grown into a Beautiful and Strong young women who we all love and admire...
So your probably wondering why now?? why am I only cutting my hair now, why didn't I shave it with her Mum all those years ago?
Well that's because Kiarnah wouldn't let me and now after all these years and her taking place in her own fundraiser last year (Camp in for Camp Quality) I have been able to convince her to let me help her raise money for a fantastic cause that helps hundreds of kids while they fight their own fight against this horrible disease and gives them a chance to be kids again.
So in honor of my Amazing God Daughter i will be cutting & donating my hair and hope to raise at lease $5000 for Camp Quality.
