Support my Big Walk for Little Kids

Every day, 2 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer.

This September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I'm taking part in the Big Walk for Little Kids to bring fun, positivity and laughter back into the lives of little kids facing cancer.

Every dollar I raise will fund Camp Quaity's services and programs to help little kids who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.

Please support my BIG walk to give little kids and families the break from cancer they urgently need. As they say at Camp Quality "laughter is the best medicine", so please give generously so we can spread those smiles far and wide.

Thank you so much!

Start of september

Had a lovely walk in nature and admired the season of SPRING!!!! Beautiful flower Photos below and a new blue shirt (gift) to wear on every walk. Thanks to all my family/friends support. We have reached our target of $580 so I set a higher target goal to $780 today. Thanks to everyone. Ps. 1st/2nd of September- 14km walk so far.

Flower photos

The sky changed a little during our walk with darker clouds rolling in. We were lucky not to get caught in the rain this time!!!!! Even with weather that doesn’t feel like spring today, we managed to admire the flowers and take some photos. keen to explore new places and hit some hiking trails with great mountain view photos to share and admire.

Hot choc to go!!!!!!

Luckily made it before closing time to our FAV cafe!!!!The staff so lovely we had cute smiley faces on our coffee cups which always brightens my day. We went for a lovely afternoon walk with our hot hot hot chocolates and enjoyed 1 minute of sunshine before the clouds rolled over.We saw some cute baby Rosellas pecking at the grass and some sleepy looking peaceful ducks curled up with their heads tucked. What a great day.

Parkrun -5k

Had a great run this morning at a new parkrun event opening. I ran 2.5km up hill and the rest ran downhill through mud and past beautiful paddocks that had horses on the fence line and running through oak trees it was the best run I have ever done. At the end we all went to a lovely cafe where their was wall art to admire and outdoor fake grass eating areas but best of all a massive market event so explored and got some local produce.

56km

1st week September - 49.5km total. YAY!!!! Usually I do 5K a day in my normal everyday life but NOW I have been walking closer to 6km or 7km a day. I think the warmer weather and SPRING Season has boosted my energy to add on an extra 1 to 2km per day- EXTRA!!! Feeling motivated and enthusiastic about changing some of my walks to running since I LOVE ParkRuns so let’s see how it all goes these upcoming weeks. I’m at 56km so far as of today’s date.

Rainbow

lovely walk in a light drizzle of rain with sunshine it was a magical morning as we admired the rainbow.

75km completed and only 75km to go!!!

75km in 12 days and now half way to go. Only 75km more to get to a total of 150km - YAY. Still have 2 weeks and 2 days of the September month left and raised $628 so only $152 to go to reach our target of $780. Thank you to those who have supported/donated, it is appreciated xx I have heaps of photos and some entry blogs on my page. Getting to some BIG hikes this month.

Parkrun 5k

running late but that’s okay made it with 5min to spare. had a great run with my partner as we were cheering one another on with encouragement. We ran 5K in 31min and 46 seconds so that was good for feeling a little run down this week. lovely morning even though rushed so after the run I went to a cafe and had a ginger fruit juice mix it was AMAZING!!!!

Only $37 to reach target

How exciting only $37 until reach $780 and only 55km to go. We have a total of 13 days to go so heaps of time to achieve this goal. Thanks to everyone who has donated and supported this cause - you know who you are :) I have taken two days off walking so I will get back walking tommorow and I promise to take some more photos to share to gallery. Enjoy!!! Cheers, Cait xx

Went for a walk anyways

I have been feeling unwell with cold and flu symptoms so decided after two days rest and sleeping constantly that this morning I will go for a walk and get some fresh air. Best decision as felt a little better for it mentally and after the 6:45am walk I went back to sleep and slept for hours. Definetly will be up bright and early again tommorow, then obviously more sleeping until better. back to sleep for me!!!!

Snow and waterfall

Woke up early and went for a beautiful hike through the forest that had lovely little walking ramps and massive rocks that you could climb up to see a view which was spectacular. Along the hike I saw a legless Lizzard which was kinda cool and some purple and yellow wildflowers. we saw a waterfall which was the half way point and a perfect spot to splash our faces with fresh water. The waterfall track had lots of steep hills and then downhills consistently throughout which made it actually feel like a workout. Once we got to the car we headed off to the snow and walked up and down snow hills, this was INCREDIBLE and nobody was around it felt like a dream that couldn’t be true. perfect day for a walk with sunshine along with light spitters of rain couldn’t be more lucky.

Incredible bonsai trees

I have never seen Bonsai trees like these, I was amazed at the different types of Bonsai trees and the size of each one was MASSIVE, It was MAGICAL and looked UNREAL. The shape, styles, colours and little figures hidden in some of them was very detailed and like each Bonsai tree had a little story. It was a magical short walk through the Bonsai tree garden followed by a longer walk through the Cedar wood forest to a beautiful secluded picnic area. We had beautiful hill top views with the scenery of rolling hills along with a lake and could see further out to the city, this is where we obviously stopped to take it all in and couldn’t resist buying a very expensive hot chocolate in the moment.

Incredible night walk

WOW WOW WOW, we have walked up and down stairs lite up at night through the rainforest. It was worth every step as the waterfall was breathtaking and at night very peaceful with the sound of silence except for the running water of course. This walk was a short 20min loop along a great boardwalk that felt safe to walk across, I especially loved the rocks in the creek to leap across. Can not forget to add how AMAZING the Blue Mountains- The Three Sisters were as the sun was setting. It is a completely different atmosphere compared to in the day when it’s busy and full of tourists and definetly not peaceful during the day.

Grand canyon hike - NSW (9k)

We were very lucky to have the information centre in Katoomba contact us within 5minutes after we called them and we’re sadly informed that the Grand Canyon track was closed. Luckily within 5min as we were driving off we got a call that they are reopening the track- YES!!!!! Excited me jumped up and down in the car park and of course took photos of the Grand Canyon sign before our walk began. With excitement we hit the track starting all down hill steps which we all know what that means for the way up - OH NO!!!! LOL The Grand Canyon walk was up and down steps with river crossings over rocks and under rock edges it was INCREDIBLE. I am attaching heaps of photos to the gallery for this one. Now we are ready for the next hike of the day, too many to choose from so contacting the information centre to find out which tracks are open due to the poison they are dropping from the helicopters to kill the wild dogs/foxes ( I find that sad).

South lawson circular walking track- nsw

This track was quick and short with four waterfalls to see, each waterfall was MAGNIFICENT and worth every moment to pause and take it all in. It was tempting to want to swim with the crystal clear fresh water rivers and little perfect swimming sand bank spots but unfortunately it was FREEZING!!! Along the hiking trail we saw a cute little lizard that was very unique looking so I added the little guy in my photo gallery of our hiking adventures. These waterfalls will always be memorable and I will look forward to doing again.
