What Camp Quality Means to Me

Camp Quality plays a profound and enduring role in the lives of children facing cancer and the families who walk beside them. For many families — including my own — their support comes at the most frightening and overwhelming moments.
In 2025, our four-year-old son was diagnosed with a rare cancer affecting his prostate and bladder. The journey was devastating and filled with uncertainty, but Camp Quality stood with us through every stage of his treatment. Their Child Life Therapists helped our son understand what was happening in an age-appropriate way, easing his fear during procedures and bringing comfort to what could have been an intensely traumatic experience. They also supported us as parents, helping us stay informed, grounded, and emotionally supported when we needed it most.
These therapists provide specialised emotional and developmental care to children undergoing cancer treatment, reducing anxiety, explaining medical processes, and helping families cope. Their work builds resilience not only in the child, but also in parents and siblings navigating the same difficult journey.
Funds raised through our participation in the Camp Quality ESCAPADE Rally in October 2026 will directly support the donation required to ensure these vital services remain available, allowing Camp Quality to continue providing Child Life Therapists in hospitals for families facing their toughest moments.
Camp Quality brought light into our darkest days — and with your support, they can continue bringing hope, comfort, and strength to countless other families.
We're fundraising because...
We're preparing for the open road, and taking part in esCarpade 2026 to bring positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids facing cancer.
We will be taking part in a seven-day driving adventure from Sunshine Coast to Tweed Heads to raise awareness for Camp Quality.
Every month, 64 kids are diagnosed with a cancer.
For 40 years, Camp Quality has improved the quality of life for kids impacted by cancer, and their families.
Camp Quality's programs and services help families build optimism and resilience through community, education and fun. They support kids (0-15) dealing with their own cancer diagnosis or the diagnosis of a sibling, parent, or carer every step of the way.
Last year, Camp Quality supported 1 in 3 kids diagnosed with cancer. Their goal is to help them all!
Please donate to my page and help give kids facing cancer the chance to be kids again.
