How do I register as a driver or rider?

Register your truck or motorcycle online via this website. Have your credit card ready to pay your $15 registration fee. Then, donate $70 or more. This amount will show up as a donation on your fundraising page. Bonus – you can claim it back on your tax return!

When is the latest I can register?

Truck and motorcycle registrations close on Monday, 12 February 2024, at 10 am (AEDT).

If you have not been able to register in time, please contact the Convoy Geelong Events Team via email [email protected], and we may be able to accommodate a late registration.

Why do you need my vehicle registration details?

Your vehicle registration helps us to identify registered Convoy participants and reduces delays when managing vehicle arrival, parking spot allocation, Convoy departure and Lead Truck identification. Please provide us with your vehicle registration number to ensure you have an enjoyable experience on event day.

Can I register on the day?

Registering on the day is not possible. Register through our website before Monday, 12 February 2024, by 10 am (AEDT) to participate as a driver.

Can I register on behalf of another person?

All Convoy Geelong participants need to register themselves via the website. During the registration process, you can create a team page (if you are the first person on your team registering) or join a team (if the team page already exists).

How many trucks and motorcycles can be in a team?

It usually takes at least two people to form a team, but there is no upper limit for the number of team members. Trucks and motorcycles can be part of the same team.

TRUCKS, MOTORCYCLES & LICENCES

Can I participate with any type of truck?

Due to limited spacing, we accept small-to-medium-sized tricks, including but not limited to primary movers without trailers, etc. If you would like to participate with anything larger, please contact [email protected].
 
Please note: Your vehicle must comply with regulations and be legally allowed to be driven on roads and freeways.

What about minimum age and driver licence requirements for participants?

To participate as a vehicle driver in Convoy Geelong, you must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the event. Additionally, you will require a full driver's licence relevant to your vehicle.

Can I participate with any type of motorcycle?

Any motorcycle can participate, even a trike or a sidecar motorcycle. However, should your bike fall under a category well outside the norm, please get in touch with [email protected] to see if your vehicle is suitable for event participation.

How much does it cost to participate in Convoy Geelong?

When registering as a participant of Convoy Geelong, we ask that you pay the $15 registration fee. We strongly encourage you to donate at least $70 to kick off your fundraising campaign and help raise money for kids facing cancer. Passengers wanting to earn merchandise must register and meet the minimum fundraising requirements.

Once registered, spread your fundraising page far and wide. Every dollar you raise supports Camp Quality to bring positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids facing cancer. 

Is there an entry fee for visitors and spectators?

You can attend this event free of charge - we would love to see you there. Please look out for the QR posters around the event venue to make a donation and help kids facing cancer.

What are the key timings for Convoy Geelong?

Please note that the times below are subject to change. If we have any changes to the schedule, we will let the participants know as soon as possible.

  • 8.00 am Driver registration closes
  • 8.15 am Driver safety briefing
  • 9.00 am Convoy departure
  • 10.15 am Family Festival commences
  • 10.30 am Convoy arrival (approx.)

What is the route for Convoy Geelong?

Can I watch Convoy Geelong and cheer drivers on?

You certainly can, and we encourage you to do so!
Locate yourself at a safe spot (e.g. service road or footpath) and leave sufficient space between yourself and the road. 

Cheer on the drivers, get creative and get out those pom-poms and honk back if you're in a vehicle!
Convoy Geelong departs Beckley Park at around 9 am and will take one to one-and-a-half hours to complete the route.

How long does it take for the Convoy to return to the venue?

We anticipate that Convoy will be on the road for about one-and-a-half hours. However, timings can change on the day. 

Please remember that the traffic lights, road conditions, and weather can influence the Convoy and when they will arrive back on-site. 

Where do I park?

If you are a registered Convoy Geelong driver or rider, our friendly traffic controllers will assist you with finding the right spot for your vehicle. 

You will be directed to the visitor car park if you are spectating.

If you require disability parking, please inform the traffic controllers, and we will arrange for parking directly next to the venue.

CONVOY GEELONG EXPERIENCE

Do you still run Convoy in bad weather?

Rain or wind won't prevent the event from taking place. However, if the weather is forecasted to be extreme, we will put the safety of our drivers, riders, spectators and staff first, and cancel the event.

Will there be food and coffee vendors at Convoy Geelong?

There will be food and coffee vans at the event. The vendors will have EFTPOS available.

What about toilets?

We will provide accessible toilets at Beckley Park.

Fundraising & donations

Is there a minimum fundraising amount?

In addition to your driver/rider registration fee of $15, you are strongly encouraged to make a donation of $70 (or more) to Camp Quality.

We ask that you fundraise to help support kids (0-15) facing cancer. While setting an ambitious fundraising goal may appear hard to achieve at first, you will be surprised by how much you can raise with just a few ideas and actions.

There is no minimum fundraising amount, all donations are welcome. 

Can I still fundraise during or after the event?

You sure can. Fundraising for the 2024 Convoy Geelong event will close at midnight on Sunday, 31 March 2024.

How do I become Lead Truck at Convoy Geelong?

If you're the top fundraiser (individual) by 6 pm on Saturday, 17 February 2024, you will be the lead for Camp Quality's Convoy Geelong. The second and third-highest fundraising trucks will follow closely behind.

Can I make a donation on the day?

You can make an online donation or use the QR codes around the venue on the day to make a donation. 

Check out the Convoy leaderboard to find out which truck is in the running to take pole position as Lead Truck.

The truck with the highest number of donations on their online fundraising page on the day before the event, will have the honour of leading Convoy Geelong 2024.

The money raised from Camp Quality's Convoy helps brings positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids facing cancer.

Our programs and services help families build optimism and resilience through community, education and fun. We are there for kids (0-15) dealing with their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a sibling or parent, every step of the way: in hospital, at school, online and away from it all at our camps and retreats.

You need to adhere to a Code of Conduct that forms part of the Terms & Conditions. It outlines Camp Quality’s expectations of every participant, staff member, volunteer, event visitor and service provider. Please read the Code of Conduct.

Are Convoy Geelong participants covered by Camp Quality's Public Liability Insurance?

You will need to have your compulsory Third Party Insurance on the day. In addition, you need to have either Third Party Property Damage OR Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance.
