Camp In

I'm Camping at home on Saturday 4th July to give kids a break from cancer.

Hi,

I’m Sammy and I am five and a half years old. I never met my grandma mums’ mum because she died of cancer when my mum was  22. My mum’s name is Lee Drury. She loves working  for Camp Quality for nine years just before I was born.

Ever since I was little I have always wanted to know about diseases that make people sick and even die when they are not meant too.

I know cancer is a terrible one that causes lots of problems.

Mum has a friend who has a daughter named Charli, who was diagnosed with cancer about a month ago. She is seven and has been so sick and I think It will be a long time before she goes back to school.

I want to raise lots of money to help children with cancer so I am asking if your family can make a donation too.

It doesn’t have to be much, I’m good at maths and know that it all adds up to a big amount.

Mum and I are going to Camp Out on Saturday 4th July because the charity is called Camp Quality and they organise camps for the kids when they are feeling a little better to cheer them up.

I hope Charli is well enough to go one day.

If you can make a little donation that would be great. Thank you

Love Sammy and my mum Lee Drury.

ABOUT CAMP QUALITY

Camp Quality services and programs help children 0 -13 who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of someone they love, like a brother, sister, mum or dad. By creating positive memories, Camp Quality helps change the cancer story for kids and their families: in-hospital, at home, at school and away from it all.

In 2019 Camp Quality raised funds to ensure over 7,500 kids who were registered for our services and programs had the chance to just be kids again.

We are all looking forward to the end of iso... but for families facing cancer, compromised immune systems mean every germ is a serious threat, not just COVID-19. So when Australia’s isolation ends, stress and anxiety won’t end for Camp Quality families.

That’s why I'm Camping In and raising funds to help give 7,000 kids and 18,000 family members waiting for the fun and safety of a Camp Quality program the break from cancer they urgently need.

It would be awesome if you could help too, by donating to help me reach my target.

As they say at Camp Quality “laughter is the best medicine”, so please give generously so we can spread those smiles far and wide.

Sammy, what a great idea! It’s very special that you want to do something to help other children who aren’t as healthy and happy as you are. It’s extremely important that we help those who are needing assistance to make their lives better. Well done. We are all very proud of you and you’ve got a great mum who teaches you wonderful and interesting things.
