Camp In 2022

Support my Camp In for kids facing cancer.

I've joined Camp Quality's Camp In to support kids facing cancer.

I am sleeping away from my bed on Saturday 30th July to raise funds for Camp Quality services and programs to help children aged 0-15 years old who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.

By giving up my bed on Saturday 30th July, I'm raising funds to help give Camp Quality families a chance to relax, unwind and make precious positive memories at one of their Retreats.

Together, we change the cancer story for kids and their families. Please support my Camp In to give kids and families the break from cancer they urgently need. As they say at Camp Quality “laughter is the best medicine”, so please give generously so I can spread those smiles far and wide.

Bravery, courage and guts is everywhere at Camp Quality

One of my favourite moments as a volunteer companion was at a Jindabyne snow camp. 
A boy, who had the most witty, hilarious sense of humour despite his delayed speech which was the result of a brain tumour, was secretly my favourite person at that camp. 
He used a walker to walk, and tired very easily. But man oh man, he wanted to ski the Green track like all of the other kids his age SO BAD. 
Our amazing ski instructor and Brad, one of our gentle giant volunteers, hatched a plan. 
They took our friend to the ski lift and to the top of the Green Track. 
They clipped our friend into his skis. 
Then, each of them held onto the end of a conduit pole and had our friend safely between them. 
I just happened to be halfway down the hill at that very time. I saw them preparing to come down. 
The look on our friend’s face and the feeling of pride and joy I had for all of these people who were doing seemingly impossible things is something I will never forget as long as I live.
