Support my Big Walk for Little Kids

Every day, 2 Australian families are given the heart-breaking news that their child has cancer.

This September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I'm taking part in the Big Walk for Little Kids to bring fun, positivity and laughter back into the lives of little kids facing cancer.

Every dollar I raise will fund Camp Quaity's services and programs to help little kids who are dealing with their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a brother, sister, mum or dad.

Please support my BIG walk to give little kids and families the break from cancer they urgently need. As they say at Camp Quality "laughter is the best medicine", so please give generously so we can spread those smiles far and wide.

Thank you so much!

Rainy start to my 100km walk for kids battling cancer: day 1

The rain is relentless today, pouring down in sheets, but it’s not enough to dampen my spirit or halt my mission. My name is Jasmeen, and I’m a new mom, just four months postpartum, navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood. Today marks the start of an incredible journey—both my first day back at work and the beginning of my 100km walk to raise awareness and support for children fighting cancer. It’s a big day, and I’ll admit, I’m a little nervous. Taking that first step feels daunting, but I know it’s just the beginning of something meaningful. As a new mom, my heart aches in a way I never imagined when I see a child suffering. Every time I hear about a child battling cancer, it hits me deeply—my maternal instincts kick in, and I feel this overwhelming urge to do something, anything, to help. That’s what fuels me to lace up my shoes, step out into the rain, and start this 100km walk. This isn’t just a physical challenge; it’s a commitment to shine a light on the resilience of these brave kids and to support the cause that means so much to me.The rain may keep falling, but it won’t stop me. Each step I take is for those kids—the ones fighting battles far tougher than any storm I’ll face on this walk. I’m ready to push through the nerves, the weather, and the challenges ahead to make this walk happen. Here’s to Day 1, to new beginnings, and to walking with purpose for kids who inspire me every day.

Day 2 of my 100km walk for little smiles

The sun was shining bright today, and so was my determination! I hit the pavement for Day 2 of my 100km walk in September to raise awareness and support for kids battling cancer. Today, I clocked 5.6km, and let me tell you, every step felt like a victory! As a mum four months postpartum and exclusively breastfeeding, this challenge is no small feat. I’m juggling feeds, naps, and now, this incredible journey of endurance. By the end of today’s walk, I was tired—okay, exhausted—but my heart is bursting with enthusiasm. Knowing that each kilometer brings hope and smiles to those brave little warriors fighting cancer keeps me going. To hit my daily target, I’m practically working in shifts—squeezing in kilometers between mum duties! But it’s all worth it. This walk isn’t just about the distance; it’s about showing up for those who need it most. Here’s to more sunny days, more steps, and more smiles for the kids who inspire me every day.Stay tuned for more updates as I keep pushing toward 100km! #WalkForLittleSmiles #100kmChallenge #KidsWithCancer

Day 3: a day off, a walk on, and a lil unwell bub

Hey there, Day 3 of my journey, and today was a bit of a curveball. I didn’t go to work today—exhaustion hit me like a ton of bricks, and I needed to hit pause to recharge. Sometimes, you just have to listen to your body, right? But even though I was wiped out, I wasn’t about to break my commitment to getting those steps in. A promise is a promise, and my daily walk is non-negotiable!My little bub, though, is feeling a bit under the weather today. Nothing major, just a lil unwell, but enough to make me want to wrap them in a blanket and keep them cozy. Despite that, we made it work. We bundled up, took it slow, and got our walk in together. There’s something about fresh air and a steady pace that feels like a reset, even on tough days. Bub’s a trooper, and those steps? Locked in.I’m learning that it’s okay to take a breather when life feels heavy, as long as you keep moving forward in your own way. Today wasn’t about crushing it at work or ticking off a million tasks—it was about showing up for myself and my bub, keeping our promise, and finding a small win those kids. Here’s to tomorrow, hopefully with a bit more energy and a healthier bub!Steps logged: Done. Vibe: Tired but proud.

Rainy day update day 6

The past two days have been incredibly tough. I lost my aunt back in my hometown, and it’s been especially painful because I couldn’t be there to say goodbye. I haven’t posted much during this time, but I’ve stayed true to my promise and completed my walks yesterday, today, and on September 6th. I’m hoping tomorrow brings a bit more lightness so I can share more with you all. On a positive note, my little one is doing well now, much better than before.
