USEFUL INFO

What kind of car do I need for wesCarpade?

All entrant vehicles must be roadworthy and pass the scrutineering checklist. Vehicle registration must cover the period of wesCarpade. In addition to Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP), all wesCarpade vehicles must be covered by either Third Party Property Damage OR Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance.

For first-year entrants, you do not need a themed car, just a vehicle that passes the scrutineering checklist. Please see the 'what is pre scrutineering checklist and final scrutineering question below' We will provide you with stickers for your vehicle.

What is Pre and Final Scrutineering?

Pre Scrutineering happens 6-8 weeks before the event. Our mechanics will have a look at your car and make sure it is roadworthy and ready to go! If the mechanics find any issues, you then have the next few weeks to get these issues resolved. On day 0 (first day of wesCarpade) the mechanics will have a final look over your car and give it the all clear to get you on the road.

What does it cost?

There is a registration fee of $600 per person. It covers all meals on the event (with the exception of 'layday' breakfast and lunch ) full medical, mechanical and logistical support, as well as fundraising support in the lead up to wesCarpade. You will also receive two Camp Quality branded shirts and a cap.

Please support us by choosing to pay your registration fee upfront. This helps us reduce overheads and direct more money towards supporting kids and families facing cancer. If you choose to pay your registration fee later, it must be paid prior to or at pre scrutineering.

All fuel, accomodation and car maintenance is to be covered by entrants.

Do I need to book my own accommodation?

All teams are responsible for arranging and paying for their own accommodation. Camp Quality will produce an accommodation guide. This provides you with some suggested options in each of the towns we pass through. Please remember accommodation can sometimes be a little hard to come by, especially when visiting the more regional locations, so it's a good idea to plan and book as soon as possible. We do encourage you to buddy up and look at twin accommodation. We will let you know when the guide is available.

What is layday?

Layday is usually the half way mark of the event. It is a day where we do no driving and have the opportunity to explore whatever town we are in! We will suggest some fun activities you can do to fill the day but the day is really yours to do as you please! We will not supply breakfast or lunch on layday but will provide dinner that evening.

What about my luggage?

There is a luggage truck for storage. It can transport your excess baggage from one town to the next for the week. The luggage truck will be at breakfast each morning for you to drop off what you need to, and at check-in location each afternoon to pick up what you need.

What is the minimum we need to fundraise?

The minimum amount to raise is $5000 per car entry, and this must be raised prior to the start of the event. Any money received after this date will be added to your tally post-event. All monies for each year must be receipted by 31st December, or will be receipted to the following year's fundraising totals.

How do I fundraise?

The Camp Quality team is here to support you through all your fundraising efforts. We also have a heap of hints, tips and ideas within our fundraising tool kit. We will let you know once these are available for download in your fundraising portal. If you need any other help, please don't hesitate to get in contact with us on 1300 662 267, or by email to wesCarpade@campquality.org.au.

Can we join forces with other cars to fundraise?

Yes, you absolutely can. You can partner up with others and pull your cars together to be part of a wider team. Please note though, that each car must still raise $5000.

Please let us know if you would like to  create a team of cars who fundraise together, so we can set you up a super team page.

What happens if my car breaks down?

In the instance of a breakdown, we travel with a fleet of mechanical workshops (MWs) who will be there to assist you. It may be that your vehicle can't be fixed and, in this case, the MW will transport you to the nearest town. Any car maintenance issues will be at the expense of the owner.

How many co-drivers can I take?

There is a maximum of four people per car. The minimum number is two people per car (Driver and Co-driver/Navigator). There should be no more than three co-drivers.

Are we covered under Camp Quality's public liability insurance?

No. You need your own Compulsory Third Party Insurance. In addition to Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP), all wesCarpade vehicles must be covered by either Third Party Property Damage OR Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance. The insurance policy must be valid for any vehicle to be able to participate in ANY Camp Quality-organised events. This is part of our Risk Assessment and Safety Requirements for wesCarpade.

Are there events during wesCarpade?

As part of wesCarpade, we visit schools along the way to showcase our Cancer Education Program, which answers difficult questions kids have about cancer. There are also plenty of Fun Stops along the way. This is time for you to get out of your vehicle and stretch your legs, and maybe hit a golf ball, bob for apples or hit a ball for six. In many of the towns we visit, we are welcomed by the community with a breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is a great opportunity for everyone to see the cars and have fun with the locals.

What are Covid 19 rules and vaccinations?

Camp Quality is constantly following and reviewing Government Guidlines. In line with Western Australian Mandates, it is requested that all event participants are fully vaccinated with three doses of a TGA approved vaccine that makes the individual eligable for a valid certificate issued by the Australian Immunisation Register.

What is a Working with Children Check?

To attend wesCarpade you also need a WWCC (working with children check) This is because we enter schools. Contact wescarpade@campquality.org.au and we will send you the form that you will need to fill out. Entrants who already hold a WWCC we will just need a copy.

Can I get a refund if the event is cancelled?

If wesCarpade is cancelled due to government- imposed- Covid 19 restrictions, or Camp Quality determines, that the event cannot be held in a Covid- safe way, Camp Quality will offer you a full refund of your registration fees.

If the event is cancelled due to extreme weather risks, bush fire risk, Camp Quality being unable to deliver the event safely due to restrictions imposed upon it, by land holders, stakeholders, inability of key suppliers to support the event or any such similar circumstance, Camp Quality will offer a 50% refund of registration fee.

Please note that all funds raised for Camp Quality up to the date of event cancellations are non-refundable and may be used by Camp Quality for its charitable purposes.
