what do you need to take part in escarpade?

You can join with any type of car or 4WD which is at least 20 years old as long as it’s roadworthy and registered. You will need CTP insurance and Third Party Property damage or Full Comprehensive insurance.

To take part in esCarpade, your car will need to pass the Scrutineering Checklist.

Your car doesn't need to be ready when you register. You'll have the opportunity to have your car checked by our mechanics in the lead up to the event at pre-scrutineering.

This is where our trusty mechanics take a look under the hood.

Don’t worry, the car doesn’t need to be event-ready for scrutineering, and our mechanics can give you some tips and tricks on the day!

We’ll take one final look under the hood to make sure everything checks out before we head off on our epic adventure.

What happens if my car breaks down?

In the instance of a breakdown, we travel with a fleet of mechanical workshops (MWs) who will be there to assist you. It may be that your vehicle can’t be fixed and, in this case, the MW will transport you to the nearest town.

What percentage of the trip is dirt?

The percentage of dirt and bitumen can change from year to year but, on average, around 80 percent of the route is on dirt!
