On the Road: WesCarpade Day 3

07 Aug 2018

Day 3: Tuesday 7th August

After a big breakfast at the Lake Grace District High School Pavilion, the Weskies headed around the corner to the Lake Grace High School to parade past the kids. Today we headed towards Jerramungup and South into the Fitzgerald National Park before crossing the sandbar at Bremer Bay. It was a day of corrugations, plenty of muddy puddles and finish greeted by a spectacular sunset and a pod of wales at Bremer Bay.

Highlights of Day 3 included:

  • A parade past the kids at the Lake Grace District High School. Shrek made sure each and every kid had a bit of Shrek love before we left.
  • A fun stop at Hop Sing’s Café out in the bush, courtesy of our course director Peter Hodge and Camp Quality’s Nedge Sinanovski.
  • Lunch at the Jerramungup Hall.
  • A challenging set of roads in the afternoon, due to some tough corrugations and deep and muddy water holes.
  • A spectacular descent down to the sandbar at Bremer Bay, to be greeted by a sunset and a pod of wales.
  • Dinner at the Bremer Bay Sports Club, courtesy of the Bremer Bay Tennis Club. The themed night of sports heroes and villains saw some interesting costumes.

Today’s Dipstick Award went to Bletchy for failing to realise the value of having the window up while driving through mud holes.

Tomorrow the crew heads to Mt Barker on the South Coast.
